History of Berdan
The Berdan Institute for Medical Secretaries opened at the present location in
September, 1976. Berdan began its first class of Medical Assistants in
January, 1977, and became known as the Berdan Institute.
The Dental Assisting Program was started in January, 1979 and now holds
American Dental Association Accreditation. Berdan was accredited by the
Accrediting Commission of the Career College Association in April, 1981.
The Medical Assisting Program received full accreditation from the
American Medical Association in conjunction with The American Association
of Medical Assistants in October, 1989.
In 1990 EFC Trade Inc. purchased and presently owns Berdan Institute.
